Reasons to be thankful for dogs (and how to thank them!)
Are you thankful for your dog?
If you have a dog, you're probably glad they're in your life. There are so many reasons to appreciate them. Since Thanksgiving has just passed, it might be time for a little reminder, in case you've forgotten.
Reasons to be thankful for your dog.
In addition to being their loveable selves, dogs are
Loyal - They do their best to be with you when you need them. If you're their person, they will follow you everywhere.
Protectors - When a dog claims you as theirs, they'll protect you to the best of their ability. No matter their size, age, or any other factors.
Comforting - If you are sick, injured, or sad, your dog will give you kisses and cuddles until you feel better.
Exercise partners - They love to go out and see the world. Plus, they need to go out to do their business regularly. And by taking your best friend for walks, you get out, get some fresh air, and move your muscles too.
Great companions - You are never alone when you have a dog. They'll sit quietly with you as you sort through your thoughts.
Comedians - Laughing can make you feel better about most things, and your dog is usually ready with a funny trick or a happy wag of the tail.
Trained to do tasks - Service dogs are trained to do their assigned duties for keeping their handler safe without fail.
Faithful work partners - Herding dogs herd. Protection dogs protect. Search and rescue dogs.... you get my drift.
I'll bet you have more reasons that I haven't listed. The point is that dogs are deserving of our appreciation in so many ways.
How can you show your appreciation?
Dogs aren't usually picky. A treat or two, a loving belly rub, or a pat on the head can be enough for the short term. But how about thinking bigger. A warm dog coat might be a longer-lasting form of thanks. Plus they make great Christmas presents. Take a look at my website and see what Made by De has to offer.
