Your dog might need a coat for many reasons. If they're shivering or hesitant to go outside, they might need a coat.

Some dogs need coats. How do you know if yours is one of them?

1)  If your dog doesn't have long, thick fur and you live where it snows, they will probably need a coat.

Dogs that have short coats don't have as much insulation as other dogs. A coat can help them tolerate cold weather better.

4) As dogs get older, they lose body fat, making it more difficult for them to tolerate the cold. A dog coat can help them cope with winter weather.

5) If your dog is shivering, hesitant to go out in the cold, or otherwise seems uncomfortable with the chilly weather, they might need a coat.
