How to get the perfect fit for your dog
How to get a dog coat or other product that fits
Your dog is unique. Even within their breed, some are bigger than others, more muscular, and have different build ..... you get the point. How do you find a coat or pajamas that will fit?
Measuring your dog can help you get the perfect fit
First, you need to measure. And by measure, I mean by using the right tools to measure the aspects of your dog that need to be measured.
- You'll need a cloth measuring tape to accurately account for your dog's curves.
- The areas that make a difference in fit are the ones that need to be located. My diagram can help.
- Your dog must stand squarely on all four feet to allow for the least distortion.
What happens with the measurements?
The creator of your product will translate your measurements to the work in progress. They may have questions that need to be clarified. The more you communicate with them, the more likely the ultimate goal of a great fit will be achieved.
What will you and your dog be doing with this product?
Part of the process is understanding the needs of dog and handler. If you are clear about what you're seeking and let the creator know, you are much more likely to get your needs met.
Dog britches are a necessary evil.
If you have an intact female dog, heat cycles are going to be a part of life. While I wouldn't say these britches will make it easy, they certainly will make it better for both you and your dog. Using the diagram below, you can get the most comfortable, best-fitting diapers possible. If they fit, your dog is more likely to be comfortable.
Custom dog clothes can be a great thing for you and your dog. You do have to go to the work of getting the details right, but it's well worth it when you don't have to fight with the product at hand.
